Wildlings is our Ofsted registered Holiday Club, which runs through school holidays in the beautiful woodland at Burton Hathow Preparatory School.
Drop your wildlings off for hours of muddy adventures, self-directed play, nature crafts, free-expression, games, independent learning, skill building, bushcraft, tree climbing and so much more!
The children are met at the gate by the forest school leader. They walk down to the woodland together and start the day with a game. A talking circle gives everyone the chance to meet each other, hear what activities are on offer and understand safety rules.
Two activities are offered before lunch followed by a quiet game and reflective sit spot. Activities vary and may include fire skills, foraging, whittling, weaving, printmaking… with more time for free play and exploration. All sessions are rooted in forest school principles.
After lunch a campfire cooking activity means a tasty snack every afternoon. With more games to get everyone running about again.
At the end of the day the children and leaders gather together the hear what each other have done through the day, to reflect on new skills and celebrate achievements.
Children are returned to parents and carers at the gate. You’re child is likely to get muddy… and love it!
We accept all childcare vouchers and tax free childcare payments.
We are delighted to be working with the local authority to deliver the HAF (Holiday Activity and Food) Programme during all the main school holidays. This programme is free for children aged 5+ who receive free school meals, and we are prioritising bookings for these young people during specific dates. You can book HAF sessions via the eVouchers website; you should have been sent a link by your child’s school.
If you do not receive HAF vouchers we welcome all other children who would like to join us. All food is provided at sessions which include HAF participants.
