Kat’s early love for both creativity and wild spaces led her to pursue a BA Hons in Fine Art and a career in community arts, supporting young people in creative learning. Inspired by her children’s experiences in Forest School, Kat trained as a Forest School leader. Since 2017, she has delivered sessions for families, home educators, and schools, promoting self-directed learning and a deep connection to the outdoors.

Emma

Forest School Leader

Hi, I’m Emma, I work on a mobile basis for Land and Leaf Collective. I visit childminders, nurseries, schools and other community groups to deliver nature based activities and give taster sessions for Forest School. Previously, I’ve worked for 4 years as a primary school teacher and spent many of my early years in the Scouts before becoming a scout leader. This then led to me training as a Forest School Leader in 2024. Some favourite activities I deliver on n the community include; the portable mud kitchen, clay crafts, swinging in the hammock and fire lighting. Forest school can be delivered on any site and supports child development in a number of ways. It follows the participants interests and I would love to talk with you about how it may work in your setting.

Forest School Leader

I’m Leanne, the forest school leader who facilitates the home ed sessions at Land and Leaf collective. I fell in love with forest school after taking my own children to sessions and seeing them thrive and be so joyful in nature.. it also did wonders for me getting out each week and having dedicated time in the woods! 🌱 I was at a bit of a cross road after recently moving back to Lincoln and leaving my career as a Womenswear Designer, I decided to take a punt and started volunteering at home ed sessions and my love for Forest school only grew. The community, the people 🫶, the connection to nature and seasonal rhythms, being creative and playful, they were all things I had wanted when trying to figure out my next path. From there I trained and became a fully qualified Forest School Leader ✨ I feel so lucky I get to call this my job, I get to see sooo many children, young people and adults thrive in the woods each week. I get to be creative, curious and learn so much every session alongside such great people. It really is a privilege! I’m in full planning mode for sessions starting back this week, looking forward to seeing how the woods have changed and greeting lots of familiar and new faces too! 🍂
