Stay and play sessions for families with children aged 0 – 5. Expectant first time parents are also welcome.
These sessions are funded until 2025 by NHS Mental Health Transformation funding, which is managed by Shine Lincolnshire.
These weekly sessions invite families with young children and babies to explore nature, using their senses to engage with the woodland and natural materials in play. Rooted in forest school principles and slow pedagogy, Seedlings sessions foster nurturing relationships that promote lifelong mental and physical health.
Through regular sessions, we build community by developing friendships and sharing ideas, skills, and knowledge. Each week features natural crafts, messy play in the mud kitchen, den building, tree climbing, and opportunities for relaxation in hammocks and quiet reading areas. We gather around the fire circle for snacks, storytelling, singing, and reflection.
Sessions follow a rhythmic structure of songs, stories, and activities that strengthen connections with nature, enhance parent-child attachments, and support positive parental mental well-being. All taking place in a beautiful woodland setting at Strunch Hill Wood on the Doddington Estate.
