Inclusive Forest School

This is a free long term programme for families with autistic children with complex needs. This programme offers a safe space for families to attend forest school sessions. Groups are limited to six children and their parent or primary caregiver. We create a no-demand environment with sensory activities, woodland crafts, messy play, woodworking projects and always follow the interests of each child.

These programmes are open to all home educators or families whose children do not attend school. All sessions take place at Strunch Hill Wood on the Doddington Estate.

This programme is funded until 2026 by NHS Mental Health Transformation funding, which is managed by Shine Lincolnshire. Through this funding we aim to provide forest school and nature connection sessions that support whole family mental health with benefits including:

– A feeling of improved mental health and wellbeing

– Feeling part of a supportive community

– Feeling more connected to nature

– Increased confidence to access green spaces

– Better knowledge of community mental health services
