Home Education

Our Home Education Forest School sessions offer a unique and enriching outdoor learning experience tailored for home-educated children and their families. Set in our beautiful woodland space, these sessions support curiosity, creativity, and connection with nature through hands-on, child-led exploration. We currently offer two weekly sessions:

Thursday Family Session: A welcoming, inclusive session where parents and carers stay and take part alongside their children. While younger siblings are welcome, this session is primarily aimed at children aged 8 and over, ensuring age-appropriate activities and group dynamics. For families with children under 8, we recommend our Seedlings 0–8 group, which is specially designed to support younger children’s developmental needs.

Friday Drop-Off Session: A session for home-educated children aged 8+ who are ready for more independence. This is a drop-off session where children can engage in deeper exploration, supported by experienced Forest School leaders in a safe, nurturing environment.

Why Forest School for Home Education?

  • Hands-on, experiential learning in a natural setting, encouraging resilience, creativity, and practical problem-solving.
  • Social connection and teamwork, providing space for children to collaborate, communicate, and build friendships.
  • Emotional and physical well-being, with time outdoors supporting regulation, confidence, and overall health.
  • Autonomy and self-direction, empowering children to follow their interests and build a lasting relationship with nature.

Committed to Accessibility

We are passionate about making Forest School accessible to all home-educating families. That’s why our home ed sessions are run as not-for-profit – your fees go directly towards materials, equipment, and staffing, with no profit made. This helps us keep costs as low as possible while maintaining the quality and care our sessions are known for.
Whether you’re just starting your home education journey or looking to enrich your child’s learning, we’d love to welcome you into our woodland community.
